You’ve always got to keep your eyes open. Watch
people, speak to people. That’s how you grow.
But as far as aspirations go in terms of where I can
go next, I think I’ve fulfilled something. Obviously
I get the chance to play to more people. But I
can’t remember ever saying to myself: ‘Oh, I want
to do that one day.’ Bigger isn’t always better. I
don’t go to big shows. I try to catch artists in their
most intimate settings..

[ON 18TH AND 19TH MARCH 2015]?
That’s what was interesting about playing at
Kirstenbosch. There was a nice marriage of
grandeur and intimacy. Every one scattered
across the grass… there’s a real charm about that. I felt comfortable, very quickly.
I didn’t expect Africa to be so relaxed.
