SECOND SKINS
SUCCEED IN
PERSONIFYING BOTH
beast and man
Reminiscent of characters in Beatrix Potter books or Wind in the Willows,
the animals in Miguel Vallinas' Second Skins succeed in personifying both
beast and man. We recognise the man in the jeans and smart casual
jacket, and the woman in the wooly jumper – they're characters from
the society we live in. Is this the portrait of a human being likened to the
dignity of a wild animal? Or is the animal portrayed as a dignified human
being?
