Ms Windrow glanced at the couple, then at the children and ushered them over. The two children slowly got closer to Mr and Mrs Smith.
“What are your names?” asked Mr Smith smiling at the two children. There was no answer. They only stood there staring at the couple. Mrs Smith also tried interacting with the kids and reached for the girl’s hair. “What wonderful wavy…“ Mrs Smith didn’t get to finish her sentence as the girl flinched away as soon as she saw the woman’s hand coming closer to her. The boy seemed to be a little more brave and confident.
