Break up your dark suits come spring by wear the
pieces separately. Put on the pants with a silky
blouse and colorful pumps. The jacket and a pair of
classic pumps anchors a basic sundress making it
office ready.
Another versatile fabric is microfiber or ultrasuede. Lightweight, easy to care for and works so
well with other lightweight fabrics like cotton or
sheer layers, as well as, heavier knits and wools. A
microfiber skirt is another piece I'd add to the
"must have" list. It’s kind of an all-season
superhero.
Don't put away those sheer rayon tops once the
leaves start to turn. They add great texture and
interest to the dark heavier suits. No one knows
it’s a tank top if you have a jacket or sweater over
it. A sleeveless dress just needs a blazer and boots
to transition to cooler weather. Use those chunky
knits over a breezy dress or shorts to give you
some warmth on those cooler summer nights.
One of my favorite “style hacks” for sleeveless
tops and dresses is to wear a sleevey wonder (yes,
that is actually the name of the product). They are
“...reversible slip-on sleeves you wear under
sleeveless and strapless tops and dresses...” They
come in a variety of colors and fabric choices. I
have a several of them and use them constantly.
