LIQUID LIPSTICKS A BRIDE'S BEST FRIEND Bridal season is here which means lots of kissing, eating and drinking. So if you want that gorgeous pout to stay in place, liquid lipstick is your new best friend. With most liquid lipsticks, you should get at least three hours of wear (yes, even if you eat and drink). New to liquid lipstick? There are a few gold rules to follow: EXFOLIATE There are quite a few products you can purchase specific to this. My favs are from Lush and Posh. Want to go the cheap route? Grab heavy grain organic sugar from the supermarket. Use your finger using a circular motion or grab a super soft bristle toothbrush to gently remove those extra pieces of dry skin. DRY Your lips should be super dry before application. Just blot with a dry tissue or washcloth. APPLY The biggest tip is to apply ONE LAYER at a time. Apply evenly and immediately spread with your finger or a lip brush. Once near dry, apply a second layer if desired. This really depends on the shade you choose and how bold of a look you want. LINE The clean look, use a lip liner to avoid any mistakes. With liquid lipstick, it is easy to go out of the line. Your liner does not need to be perfectly matched but stick with the shade group. Red with red to orange and a Mauve with pink to nude shades. MAC Liners are fantastic and LimeLight by Alcone offers creamy options.
