Buck’s Naked BBQ, Portland Maine Restaurant Reviewed While walking around Portland Maine’s Old Port District, my husband and I came upon Buck’s Naked BBQ purely by smell and just had to check it out. When we walked in, we were blown away by how incredibly large the place was, with a very large bar and at least three main areas. The décor was a wild mix of Americana, South-western and tribal artifacts with an intentionally kitschy appeal. We quickly found seats at the bar and were greeted by a friendly bartender who recommended us some of the fantastic Portland based craft beers. For our lunch, we ordered a half rack of the baby back ribs and a pulled pork sandwich with an wide assortment of sides, including twice fried fries, coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread. The ribs came out with an amazing dry rub that didn’t require any additional sauce by any means, but we did make sure to try the different house blended sauces. My favorite ended up being the Blueberry Haze, which is a sweet sauce with a hint of Maine blueberries. The ribs were succulent, moist and fell right off the bone. The pulled pork was just as great. The sides were all excellent, but the outstanding winners were definitely the cornbread and the baked beans. Our overall experience at Buck’s was a great one and we will definitely be scheduling a stop on our next visit to Portland. Restaurant Review By - Jamie Palmer
