more frame flex so it feels a
little bit softer. Then you can
still have really good holdup
in the big G-outs and all
that. So for me I think the
biggest thing this year has
been that with the combination
of suspension. It’s just
different to me. I’ve just ran
it how they sent it to me
since day one. It’s been really
good.
You obviously have the
conditioning to go the
full three hours, hard. Has
your trainer, Tyla Rattray
made a big difference?
Yeah, I think so. I think
Tyla Rattray has helped me
out a lot. There’s a fine line
between overdoing it and
not doing enough. So I think
sometimes I’m like, am I
doing enough? Then I just keep listening to him and I get to the week and I’m
like, well, it worked. So I must be doing enough. It’s a little bit different because
when I used to train with Whibley and some other people, he used to beat us
into the ground. Now it’s a little more laid back. You’ll have one day where you
do not nearly as much. Then the next day do a bunch, and then the next day
not as much again, so you can recover. He’s all about recovery. It’s a big part. I
think that has really been the change for me and it’s definitely helped, and it
shows. Even the heat down there wasn’t even getting to me. We were on the
last lap of a three-hour race and I felt strong this weekend. I can say what if,
what if, but I felt good. I was trying to make it happen, and that’s when it went
south. n
