On The Pegs June 2020 - Volume 5 - Issue 6 | Page 71

On The Pegs VOL. 4 ISSUE 7 - July 2020 71 for national enduro still. Get back out here. I only missed a couple rounds. Where are you living now? Are you in Connecticut? No. I bought a house in Hickory, North Carolina. So I’ve been moving down there. This quarantine I’ve been working on that a lot and doing adult stuff, but also building dirt jumps in the yard and just staying busy. Do you have a local track where you can go ride a motorcycle? Where do you go ride? Yeah. There’s a couple close private spots, just private land and little tracks here and there. I haven’t really gone out to any public tracks in a while. I’ve been up to Kailub’s new place and a lot of spots in the area. How’s your endurance? Good. I’ve been doing a lot of cycling. We did a lot of long rides, longer than three hours. I feel good. Me and Johnny Gerard have been training a lot. He’s actually staying at my house. So training together. We did a century ride, a whole bunch of stuff. Feeling good. So North Carolina, how is that? Are they still pretty locked down or are they starting to open back up? It’s hit or miss. It’s pretty inconsistent. It seems like everywhere is. I feel like a lot of people don’t really care as much, especially coming from Connecticut. They’re a little more uptight up there. It’s cool. I don’t think we need to be really strict at this time. It is what it is. It honestly hasn’t really affected my life a whole lot, fortunately. Some people have been affected a lot. I was injured and wasn’t racing, so still home. Just training, doing my job. Do you have expectations for this weekend? I’m ready to go a hundred percent. I’m just going to put it all out there and hopefully be fighting Kailub for the win. I think there’s a few top guys, like Ricky is riding really well, and the Kawi guys. It’s going to be good competition, but I think I definitely have the speed and the fitness to be with him or beat him. What about this track? Is this one that you like or favor? Yeah. Nothing too special here, I don’t think. I like it. It’s nothing crazy. I wish it was a little more technical, but for Georgia it’s a good track. n
