On The Pegs Vol. 4 Issue 7 - July 2019 67 You’ve mentioned this event was inspired by the Scottish Six Days. What appealed to you about the Scottish Six Days? I’ve been participating in the Scottish the past three years. I realized that I was the only Latin American competing there. I said, “well, this is really weird”. So, as I made some friends that participate every year, I asked them, “Have you seen Latin Americans participating here?” They said, “No. You’re the only one.” Was like, “Wow. This is really shocking. Why is that happening?” I realized that we had a couple factors. First of all is the language barrier. It is not a problem for me because I speak English, but a lot of people [in Latin America] do not speak English. Then the distance, the cost, and most especially the level of the course. Everybody knows that the Scottish Six Days trial is the most difficult competi- tion for long distance in the world for trials.
