On The Pegs August 2017 - Volume 2 - Issue 8 - Page 103

On The Pegs MX school. I taught bike control but also learned some new skills from other instructors. Like how to keep my speed up on the fast flowing MX turns and jumps. I was also asked to the Invita- tional Teen Trials training Camp. An intense week long training & riding with some Pros and other top Teens from MotoTrials. Trials teaches you to be more precise and balanced when riding extremely hard terrain. You “think” through the terrain planning your moves and wheel placements. Quite a difference from Cross Country racing like in the Arkansas Hare Scrambles Series. AHSCS, is a 2hr fast race through a long loop of trails. I currently hold second in the Pro class in this series. This helps with the speed that is needed to get to the front and the endur- ance to stay there. Hard Enduro is a mixture of these forms of racing. You need to be fast yet precise enough to get through very technical ter- rain. This new form of racing is catching on in the US. The AMA has recognizes this and selected several events to represent their individual states and a Grand National Championship, TKO being the toughest and most prestigious Jan. 14-15: Decatur, Texas – RevLimiter ExtremeTKO June 10: Devore, Calif. – Prairie Dog’s Last Dog Standing July 1-2: Tamaqua, Pa. – TLR Aug 12-13: Sequatchie, Tenn - Kenda Tennessee Knockout Vol. 2 Issue 8 - August 2017 P 103
