Last year’s Rockwall Summer Musical productions of “The Music Man,” pictured on the opposite page, and “Into the Woods,” pictured above and below, were enormous hits with local audiences. In addition to its shows, the organization also offers local aspiring actors resources and workshops, such as training camps to prepare people for auditions, along with other useful tips for finding success in the industry. Doudt has been using her talents locally for musi- cals, but has also worked with the Dallas Opera and has also operated a music school in Richardson. “We have people from all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area audition for us, and we also have students from Rockwall schools; we use Rockwall talent,” she said. Though local productions may not have the gran- deur of bigger shows, for Doudt, it’s about giving residents an outlet for their creative side. “We just happy to give aspiring actors a chance to experience what it’s like to work in a professional theater atmosphere, and of course, the chance to per- form,” she said.
