arlesey boys brigade I n 1957 a decision was made at the Methodist Church in the village to form a Boys’ Brigade Company. This was started at the then Christchurch Methodist Church (now a house) and run by men from both Christchurch and St John’s Methodist Church which stood where the present Methodist Church now stands. The Minister at the time was Pastor F G Crane and the founding Officers were Mr Jim Webb (Captain), Mr Des Archer, Mr Eric Goodwin, Mr Son Goodwin (Lieutenants) and Mr John Allen (Helper). Ideally, he wanted a minimum of 20 boys aged 12 or over so we sat down with the village Images supplied by Des Archer. Published with the permission of the Biggleswade Chronicle. postman, Sid Winters, who told us every house in the village where a boy lived and we went door-knocking. Ther
