some of our visitors

We always get a range of visitors to our garden , not only lots of birds as my wife puts food out for them , but also in the past we have had Hedgehogs , Mice , Squirrels and one day a Muntjac Deer .
The first part of the garden was taken up with a ‘ lean-to ’ on the back of the house , a garage to one side and a lawned area . The second section had three fruit trees amongst a sea of Brussel Sprouts . The final section at the very end of the garden was a vegetable plot . The whole garden was lined one one side with a six foot hedge running the whole length .
It wasn ’ t a quick transformation by any means , and with a new baby the same year made it a bit slower , but after several years we had a garden we could enjoy . Being a keen photographer I did take various opportunities to capture different stages and the changing seasons as best I could .
Our first task in the garden was to trim everything in the garden to tidy up a bit and then take out all the Brussels and lay some grass in its place .
That was a rare occasion but we do try to photograph as many as we can . Here are few we have captured . We would be interested in seeing pictures of birds and animals from your garden if too .
If you would like to send them in please contact us on : onthebutton . online @ gmail . com
Plants My wife is the expert , in our house , on flowers and she has have created some planting areas around the lawns and put in some fabulous looking beds , along with a Rockery between the first and second sections . We have a Pear tree , a Cooking apple tree , a Grape Vine and two Fig trees . There are also some Wild Strawberries , Rhubarb and some herbs .
The two images above of the Squirrel and the Collared Doves were taken on a Game Camera which I move around the garden to see if I can capture different animals in other parts of the garden . It also captures video so I will try and add these to the online version of the magazine . More images next month .
