Exhibition of new plans for Arlesey An exhibition showing ‘indicative’ plans for the development East of the High Street in Arlesey was held on the 8th and 9th September 2016 at the Youth Centre in Arlesey. The plans show how the mix of housing, schools, retail space, cycle/ walking routes and green space could look once the development goes ahead. Visitors to the exhibition were encouraged to fill in questionnaires and return them with comments by 26th September 2016. Some notable comments from residents, to on the button, have been that the plans show a good mix of housing and green space. However the plans can interpreted as falling short in some crucial areas. The employment area that was proposed in the adopted masterplan has been removed from these new plans. At the exhibition residents were told this is due to the location of a gas main in this area, and that it was also prone to waterlogging. Some residents have questioned “How can the plans, that were adopted by Central Beds Council, be changed so drastically?” When asked, Arlesey Town Council were due to discuss the plans at a recent meeting, after this issue of on the button had gone to press. 6 on the button issue 50 October 2016 | 01462 834265 | Telereal Trillium are the one of the largest property companies in the UK and are handling the land to the eastern side of the High Street.
