More travellers caravans Four more pitches have now been approved at the Gypsy site in 197 Hitchin Road. A meeting at Central Beds Council offices on the 12th December saw the committee vote through yet more pitches for caravans along Hitchin Road. This now brings the total pitches at 197 Hitchin Road to 10, and 5 at the Twin Acres site – making a possible 30 vans over the 2 developments. One local said “Central Beds Council seem to treat Arlesey as the ‘dumping ground’ for whatever nobody else wants. We are powerless as they don’t care and won’t listen to us”. The annual concert on the Saturday evening was given by Gill and Jacquie Mitchell, with Sue Card on piano.
