Party in the Park To celebrate the Queen’s official birthday, on 11th June 2016, Arlesey enjoyed a Party in the Park at the Recreation ground. With games and activities for the children, dance from Gothic Mede Pandas and music to tap your feet and dance around all seemed to enjoy themselves. Arlesey Community Events Group organised a licensed bar with a pancake stall as well as people bringing their own picnic. Everybody seemed to enjoy the afternoon and the weather was kind and even Her Majesty was there – see below. Organised by the ACEG on behalf of ATC the Fête promises to be a larger and fun filled event with the usual arena shows plus plenty more features. In addition to this there will be a horticultural show with an extensive list of categories. So if you would like to enter any of these get growing, baking, crafting or snapping – see below: Arlesey Horticultural, Hobby and Craft show – find out more from the Community Events Group To contact Arlesey Community Events Group – email: [email protected] Teddys make a jump for it As part of Christian Aid week St Peter’s Church Arlesey organised a Teddy Bear Parachute Jump from the bell tower. This was accompanied by a Table Top Sale, plus Tea, Coffee, Cakes and loads more goodies on sale in the church. Loads of Teddy’s turned up for the Parachute Jump although some did get caught on the trees or lower roofs of the church during their jump. The event and others in Christian Aid week raised almost £900 for the church. Images Christina Harris. 6 on the button issue 47 July 2016 | 01462 834265 | [email protected] | www.on-the-button.co.uk
