Little Fishes
This is our group for children from 0 to 5 and is re-starting on July 14th.
We meet in the church on Thursdays from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. The
group is led by Helen Frost and new members are always welcome.
Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. During
August we will also be having a Holiday Club for children aged 5 and
upwards – more details later.
Churchyard Revisited
A big thank you to those Arlesey residents who have offered help and
made a donation towards our churchyard fund. More news next month!
As of June, grass cutting in the churchyard has been contracted to a
professional grounds maintenance company. The PCC was finding the
maintenance and repair costs to equipment unsustainable and although
we are very grateful to the Community Payback service, the overall
task of cutting the grass around our 1500 memorials was unrealistic,
especially at this time of year. They will however still help us with other
aspects of maintaining the churchyard and cleaning the church.
£900. Andy Godfrey, the area Rep for Christian Aid, says;
“Thank you all for the fantastic work you all did during C.A Week.
We are all so very deeply grateful and can’t thank you enough.”
Jubilee Campaign
As you might know, I recently passed the boundary of 60, so far
without any injuries! Instead of a birthday party I invited people to
join my appeal for the Jubilee Campaign. This supports wonderful and
often dangerous work rescuing children who have been forced into
prostitution. There was a very harrowing and moving documentary
about this on TV last year.
At our recent musical evening the audience very generously
contributed another £140 to my appeal, being it to £1,787 to date.
If you would like to help with this charity please visit my ‘just giving
