A beacon for the Queen
On April the 21st Queen Elizabeth II celebrated
her 90th birthday. Across the country people
celebrated with her. Arlesey joined many
cities, towns and villages by lighting a beacon
on the occasion.
The evening started with 90 balloons in
red, white and blue being let go into the
early evening sky by children from the
village. The crowd sang Happy Birthday
and the National Anthem along with
Vivace choir, while Reverend Geoffrey
Boult officiated.
Life-long Arlesey resident George Crouch
proudly lit the beacon as night drew in.
The event organised by Arlesey Community Events
Group was a great success.
June 11th Party in the Park
In recognition of the Queen’s 90th year this will be a very patriotic
Party. Starting at 4.00pm there are many planned events such as
music from local bands – we are looking for local bands or
performers to take part. With an optional dress code of Red,
White and Blue there will be plenty of opportunity to sing-a-long.
Children’s games are planned and the group are also looking to
screen the Euro match.
The winner of the Design-a-logo competition will be announced
during the event, so if you’ve entered come along to find out if you
have won.
Please save the date and if you know of any bands or performers
who would like to take part, please get in contact – details below

3rd September Village Fête
This year the Village Fête has superceded the Arlesey Fun Day. Organised by the ACEG on behalf of ATC the Fête promises to be a larger and fun
filled event with the usual arena shows plus plenty more features. In addition to this there will be a horticultural show with an extensive list of
categories. So if you would like to enter any of these get growing, baking, crafting or snapping – see below:
