Race for Life
What an amazing afternoon. The whole of Etonbury, pupils and staff
alike took part in the Race for Life on Friday 29th April. They ran
through Etonbury Wood and Stotfold on a 5k course (despite the
weather). The children raised in excess of £2000 for Cancer Research.

Etonbury have achieved a very impressive haul of sports titles in the
past month, the following being just a selection:
Etonbury Year 6 girls became District Champions at High 5 netball
by beating all 8 schools within the Redbourn partnership. They then
went on to represent the district in the County finals. With 4 wins and
1 draw Etonbury were crowned as County Champions. The girls all
walked away with a Gold Medal and very big smiles on their faces.
Eight Etonbury students took part in an all inclusive Curling
competition against other schools in the district!

WW1 Battlefield Trip
Year 8 recently toured the French WW1 battlefields which saw them
visiting a German trench system, Passchendaele Museum, Tyne
Cot - the largest military cemetery in the world. They also visited the
Menin Gate in Ypres. The trip was tailored for the group by using the
information that students and staff sent to the guides about relatives
lost in WW1 so they were able to pay their respects at memorials or
graves of family members. They also visited Arras where they visited
the Arras Memorial, Vimy Ridge and Wellington Quarry. The group
would like to express their thanks to the Staff and parents who gave
their time to provide a very enjoyable trip.
