DKHomeImprove_Ad02:Layout 1 With April here and an early Easter now behind us the weather seems to be warming up nicely. Even though it has been a mild winter it seems to have been cold for longer than normal. I’m sure there are statistics to disprove that. Well with the warmer weather lots of activities are being organised for the rest of the year. The Community Events Group have several already in the pipeline. Over Easter there was a Treasure Hunt and Easter Bonnet Competition. Both were well attended again and a good time had by all. More details of the forthcoming events are below. If you have details of an event you would are organising please get in contact with on the button. Jodie Chillery has supplied another ‘Day in Arlesey’ interview. This month Jodie talks to Derek Archer, head teacher at Gothic Mede Academy – see pages 8 and 9. An icon of the rail era visited Arlesey briefly in February as it sped through on its way from Kings Cross back to York. The Flying Scotsman now refurbished and looking fantastic passed through and was seen and photographed by many along its route. On pages 10 and 11 are some pictures sent in by many readers – thanks to all who supplied the images. Finally Central Bedfordshire Council approved the application for the eastern section of the new road for the future development. See page 5.
