news
The recent fireworks display at the White Horse has benefitted from a
grant from Arlesey Town Council. This event has been organised by the
Scouts for many years and they are to be applauded for the spectacular
show this year and for their continuing efforts to bring our community
together. ATC has also purchased some Christmas lights for the trees
outside the community centre, and the lights were scheduled on Friday
27th November to be switched on. A local child was selected from
names in a hat to ‘flick the switch’. A community Carols Singing event is
planned for 19th December and is to be accompanied by festive treats.
Arlesey Town Council continues to press CBC for an improvement
in the traffic and parking situation around Gothic Mede academy and
the community centre, and has published a draft proposal to improve
road safety at the side entrance and make access to the school rear
entrance easier for buggies. Please pass any comments to the Council
Office. We are also pressing CBC to publish the results of their recent
parking survey around the station.
As a result of two recent resignations, nominations are now open
for to join the council. Forms can be obtained from the Council office
or from the CBC office in Chicksands. Nominations close in December
and if necessary an election will be held on January 14th.
Should you have any questions or wish to contact the Council on
any matter please email, phone, or write to us. Contact details are
published on the community centre notice boards.
questionnaire
A questionnaire will be dropping through the door of Arlesey business
and residents, if it hasn’t already. The Arlesey Neighbourhood Plan is
gaining momentum and this is the next stage of consultation on the
future of the village. Please take time to fill it out and send back in the
reply envelope.
Arlesey Pre-School
After losing our oldest children to Lower School in September Arlesey Preschool was considerably quieter than the summer term BUT we are please
as punch to say that from January we are going to be busier than ever! With
breakfast club and additional lunch ‘add-on’ to our morning session, our
flexibility is proving very popular. If you are interested in your child joining
our setting please get in touch asap as sessions are beginning to fill up!
We held our committee A.G.M on Wednesday 4th November and were
pleased to be able to welcome 2 new members into the fold and sad to say
goodbye to a few who are moving on after years of valued service. We are
good value and a thriving and well-managed setting with fantastic staff and
amazing support from our committee – what more could you ask for?!
