from the Vicar . . . On Sunday 13th September we had a discussion in Church about what our mission, our purpose is, as St Peter’s Church. Of course the word ‘Church’ refers to more than just the building – it’s the body of people who meet there regularly – for Sunday services, coffee mornings, parish lunches, children’s groups like Pebbles and Little Fishes and so on. I asked people to list some things that are ‘great about St Peter’s Church. Here are some of the answers that people came up with; elcoming and Friendly W cceptance of people who don’t A see to fit in reat coffee morning and lunch G onnecting with memories C Welcomes children Music Good fellowship eveloping relationships D he atmosphere T The cake and coffee To give thanks and praise Mixed age groups Sanctuary of peace and quiet Supports families and children Beautiful building I also asked people for ways in which they thought we could improve and among those answers the one that came up most was that we should do more for teenagers. We would be interested to hear from any other Arseley residents who have an opinion about the Church as a body of people, and if any of the positive comments above intrigue you, why not come along and see what they mean!
