Advertisement Feature Robert McGregor election 2015 The forthcoming Elections are in the media more and more now, and our local elections will be on the same day. I’ve heard it said “This year’s elections will be the most hard fought and unpredictable for many years”. It does mean that every vote will count and for anyone ‘on the fence’ over who to vote for I think its vital that you know who and what you are voting for. As it is a General Election, candidates for Ward Councillor and Town Councillors are on voting papers as well as candidates for the main parties, at national level. Ward and Town Councillors represent your interests in our community so are maybe just as important as MPs. Arlesey Town Council has had vacancies unfilled over the last few months but this could change after May 7th if there are enough people coming forward to fill the 15 seats required. If you think you could make a difference and are thinking of standing for election as Ward or Town Councillor you can find out more information from the Arlesey Town Council office or: The Returning Officer, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5TQ For more information go to the Electoral Commission website: www.electoralcommission.org.uk Your independent candidate standing for Central Bedfordshire ward Councillor in the May 2015 elections. My name is Robert McGregor I have lived in Arlesey now for over 17 years, I have been married to my wife who is an Arlesey girl for 19 years, I have three children who all live and work in Central Bedfordshire and two grandchildren with another on the way. My hobbies include, walking my dogs around the green spaces of Arlesey and bowling for Henlow Park Bowls Club. My background; I have worked in the civil service and then moved on to owning and running my own business. I moved down from Scotland in 1997 and went to work in Local Government. I have a good knowledge and understanding of the local issues and understand the need for the local communities voice to be heard. Only too often the voice of Parish and Town Councils are not represented at Central Bedfordshire Council. The politics within the larger machine at Central Bedfordshire Council take over from the voice of local knowledge and local reason. You will be aware of the large developments that are being thrust upon us with no regard for the local voice. There is more coming to the surrounding towns and villages, so more reason that you need an independent voice to represent you. If I am fortunate enough to be elected I can promise that
