Football U7’ & U8’s Ball raises £2000 a day at Fulham History was made on Saturday 11th January as 22 warrior’s left Arlesey at first light, followed by over 50 supporters, to take on the premier league might of Fulham FC, all aged between 6-8 years old they had a day they will never forget, taking on the U7’s and U8’s of Fulham, at Fulham’s youth training complex in south London.  Supported by the youth teams chairman Steve Hazelwood, he echoed the sentiments of both the managers and parents when saying, “all the boys have had a once in a life time experience today, but what has made me more proud is the way they have represented Arlesey both on and off the pitch”.  Rufus Brevett the new Arlesey Town manager was key in arranging the fixture and on the button has been asked to pass on its thanks to him by many of the parents present. The day was finished off with 28 of the party receiving complimentary tickets for the Fulham v Sunderland game in the afternoon. Larksfield Surgery Larksfield Surgery will be closed from 2.00pm-6.30pm on Wednesday, 5 February, 2014, for staff training. This is part of a local training programme affecting many practices in Bedfordshire. Patients needing any routine services, such as repeat prescriptions, test results or appointments, will need to contact the surgery on Thursday. A deputising service, CareUK, will be covering for medical emergencies, on 0333 200 4039. A fundraising Ball held on New Years Eve in the Village Hall has raised £2,000 for the Lister Hospital Forster Suite and Macmillan nurses. Jim Randall kicked off the fundraising with a ‘Naffle’ (a Raffle with Naff prizes) and then an auction of items. Co-organiser Helen Randall said “We had such a good evening and raised a fantastic amount for the causes. Thank you to everyone who came along.” The evening was a huge success as revellers saw in the New Year after a meal and plenty of drink. where do you read yours?
