Arlesey Pre-School The last few weeks have been lovely so the children have finally been able to enjoy outside activities! With a large parasol for shade and our new stateof-the-art matting they are loving the new climbing frame. Our oldest members who are leaving for Gothic Mede have been superexcited to go across for their visits. They got to meet their teacher, see their classroom and try their first school dinner! We have places available for September – anyone looking for a wellrespected childcare setting should get in touch! Our contact number is 07815 293 670 and we are available to answer any questions over the summer break. You can also pick up a registration form from the Arlesey Town Council Office and return it to the Preschool. Government funding for 2 year olds is available subject to criteria. A final thank you to everyone who came to our recent Bingo Night at the Village Hall – it was a brilliant evening. We couldn’t hold our regular events without the support of our local community, so we would like to stress just how much we appreciate it! Happy Summer! John Outcome of the survey on improvements to bus services and West Drive • Institute of Chimney Sweeps Registered • Fully insured Gordon West 92 High Street, Arlesey, Beds t: 01462 834600 m: 07504 825626 2 | August 2013 ArleseyChimneySweep.indd 1 | Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting on 10 June, or took part in the survey afterwards, about the opportunities we have to improve local bus services and the condition of West Drive. Your feedback has helped Councillors decide how to split the total available money. £226,000 will be used to support local bus services over the next few years and £65,000 will be used to improve the condition of West Drive. Work has begun on the options to add new and improve the existing bus services. We hope to have more information on that over the summer and to see the changes begin this autumn. Residents were very concerned to preserve the special quality of West Drive but do support making the path safe. Initial repairs will take place shortly. Litter bins and security will be considered next. Longer term, local involvement and a habitat management plan will determine what other improvements are made. to advertise telephone: 01462 834265 or go to the website: www.onthebuttonarlesey.co.uk 5/12/12 22:47:53
