Klippers is a movie born from the heart of Ofu Obekpa. It is a movie that shows he has what it takes to make an exciting and entertaining movie. The characters are realistic, living and breathing humans. The movie includes the likes of Kevin Nash (John Wick, Magic Mike 2), Rob Pralgo (Fast 7, Sully), Conphidance, (American Gods, Complications), Francine Locke (Nashville), Libby Blanton (22 Jump Street) and Ofu Obekpa (American Made, Captain America-Civil War).

Klippers is an upcoming thriller, action and suspense movie. It is based on an assassin who is sent by a psychotic man to take out his ex-wife.

Klippers is a movie that took approximately eight months to write. As Ofu Obekpa says, “As a screenwriter, you have to let go of your thoughts and let the pen and your soul do the talking.”

Klippers comes from a deep place. It’s a release. It’s getting out of something. It’s making a choice between survival and death. It’s about an assassin from the motherland causing chaos in the lives of another assassin and his love interest.

Ofu Obekpa first wrote a movie called From The Shadows, which gained the attention of Hollywood vets, Doug Blake and Mark Kohl. “With vets and seasoned players as these, one would think From The Shadows, would be a discussion of the past. But it’s not that easy. You have to pay your dues and prove you have what it takes to make a great movie,” explained Ofu. And that’s exactly what he did. Ofu assembled his talented team, and they went to work.

“I’ve never been the person who sits and waits for a handout. I put my faith to work. It was challenging because I was wearing multiple hats. I was the writer, director, producer and actor. But I had great assistance from my cast and crew.”

Ofu graduated from the University Of Maine Machias, where he earned his BSC in Marketing/Business Administration. He relocated to Atlanta, GA. He worked at a law firm as a litigation and arbitration analyst. During his lunch breaks, he would write and his co-workers would make fun of him. He didn’t let that discourage him. His father wanted him to become a chemical engineer so that he could take over the family’s business someday. Ofu’s father was disappointed that Ofu changed his major to business administration. To make matters worse, Ofu was gearing to study for a masters’ in acting after his undergrad at the New York Film Academy. However, his father convinced him to learn the business in filmmaking in addition to the technical aspects. Despite getting a blessing from his Father, Ofu had to fund his film studies on his own. After doing his research, Ofu found the Recording Radio and Film Institute. There he earned his masters’ equivalent in filmmaking. While in school, he made some short films such as Assassins and Rescue 1. He participated in numerous independent film projects in the Atlanta area. After graduating, he worked on American Made, staring Tom Cruise and Captain America Civil War, staring Chris Evans.

We had some sleepless nights shooting Klippers. “It was a memorable time, I’ll never forget.” Ofu is also handling most of the postproduction work. Klippers is set to be in festivals during summer and fall of 2017.
