Q : What are some of the top IT talentrelated challenges that you see clients needing help with ?
A : One of the top challenges I see for IT leaders is that their responsibilities continue to grow , and the pressure on them continues to get more intense because of the competition in their space . They need more resources to execute everything from daily run tasks to specific projects and because the list of what they have to do is growing , it can be extremely difficult to keep up . That ’ s where Atrion can help , because we have the ability to be extremely agile — hence the name of our Workforce Agility ( WFA ) offering — in providing them the resources they need to overcome these obstacles . Whether organizations need a Level 1 resource or a Fractional CIO , people just don ’ t have the time to spend worrying about personnel challenges , they need to spend that time focused on growing and transforming their business to stay ahead of their competition .
Q : If there was a movie made about your life , who would you want to play you and why ?
I ’ d have to go with Jennifer Garner . She ’ s witty , poised and seems intelligent , so it would be an honor to have her play me .
Q : What attracted to you to Atrion ?
Well I ’ d known about the company for years , back to the days when it had fewer than 30 people — and I knew it was an industry leader and a successful organization . One of the things that attracted me and one of the reasons I ’ m so excited to be here is that Atrion is really committed to making a difference in the community , especially with respect to addressing the IT talent gap . Atrion has also created a nationally recognized Apprentice program in which we hire and train people who have little or no experience in IT . We partner with Year Up and we recently adopted the Academy for Career Exploration charter school in Providence , and the organization is committed to continuing that impact by mentoring and developing IT talent .
Q : How do you see the IT talent deficit impacting organizations over the next few years , and what are some of the ways they can combat this challenge ?
IT leaders are going to continue to see their responsibilities grow . Not only are IT leaders charged with the technology for their organizations , the focus is shifting and requiring them to know all lines-of-business . It ’ s going to get even more difficult to cover all of those bases . One of the ways they can combat this issue is by teaming with a trusted partner like Atrion and taking advantage of the highly-skilled engineers that work for us . We are about our people and culture , and we have a rigorous , proven hiring process that ensures we are bringing the right people in to our organization . Those are the same resources that our clients have access to through the WFA service . What ’ s important to realize about our WFA offering is the difference from traditional “ staff augmentation ” services . Our process spares the client from having to spend hours looking at resumés , vetting candidates and conducting interviews , because we have already done that — the engineers our clients leverage through WFA are our engineers .
For the client , we make it simple , it ’ s really just a matter of establishing trust with Atrion , understanding your specific requirements and our understanding of hiring the right talent has allowed us to be successful as a company and to put those talent issues completely in our hands .
