Besides racking up continuing education credits and expanding your knowledge, our webinars provide you with opportunities to boost your business, reach more patients and fulfill professional goals. All of the webinars listed here can be found on our members’ website on the CE & Events tab under Webinars On Demand. Let’s take a look at 2018's five most popular webinars: 1. Number one is the webinar on Non-operative Management of Sciatica presented by Dr. Carlo Ammendolia. This webinar is a great option for chiropractors looking to improve their understanding of sciatica. The webinar covers etiology, pathophysiology, as well as key features of diagnosis and common treatments. Why it matters: Forty per cent of the population is expected to experience sciatica, making it a big pain not only for patients but for our government that are actively seeking ways to reduce opioid prescriptions and unnecessary surgery. There is a tremendous opportunity for chiropractors to demonstrate non-surgical management of sciatica as a viable, evidence-based, non-pharmalogical option, contributing to a comprehensive public health care model. This approach will help many patients avoid surgery and having to take opioids. 2. Our second most popular webinar is Get Involved: Province-wide Expansion of New Primary Care Model featuring Dr. Jennifer Nash. A discussion of how Ontario plans to invest in Rapid Access Clinics (built on existing models like Inter-professional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics for low back and Central Intake and Assessment Centres for hip and knee). This webinar coaches chiropractors on how to get more involved in RACs. Why it matters: New MSK pathways are emerging and expanding, so now is the time for chiropractors to get more involved in Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) and increase connections with key players in interprofessional public health care teams. Getting involved is not only a win for you – with the potential for practice opportunities and career advancement – it’s also an opportunity to advocate for the profession and increase the integration of chiropractic into the larger public health care system. Most importantly, more options for MSK care will benefit patients.
