ON Chiropractic M V P MINIMUM VIABLE PRODUCT WHAT IS A SPIRE? A t its core, Aspire is a state-of-the-art interactive clinical note taking platform. It was built by chiropractors for chiropractors, with the assurance of quality that comes from an OCA product or service. “The goal with developing Aspire was to provide chiropractors with all of the software tools that they need for patient engagement, communication, information and interoperability with other software systems.” said Dr. Bob Haig, CEO of the OCA. “We’re doing that by involving members every step of the way.” The goal with developing Aspire was to provide chiropractors with all of the software tools that they need for patient engagement, communication, information and interoperability with other software systems. THE DE VELOPMENT PROCESS Aspire is being developed utilizing the best practices available for complex technological builds. In Aspire’s case that means that the OCA is building it in stages using a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach. An MVP is a development technique in which a new product is developed in stages so that each stage has the minimal amount of features needed for users to use the product. At each stage, feedback is collected from users and the current features, as well as new ones, are improved upon. This continues until the final product is complete. With each release of Aspire, the OCA will gather feedback from its members on how it may improve the product to best suit their needs. The first stage of Aspire, which it is currently in, focuses on developing the clinical note taking features of the software and will integrate fully with PMP to handle all the patient management features. Once the clinical features are complete, development will then begin on patient management features until Aspire becomes a complete, fully functional standalone product. www.chiropractic.on.ca 21
