Come Tumbling Down in

Our short-term evangelism team traveled three hours outside of Medellín to the small town of Jericó , Colombia , birthplace of the first Colombian saint , Laura Montoya . The team was apprehensive about doing doorto-door evangelism in an area that had become renowned for its religious tourism . However , our team saw , nestled between two of the most stunning Catholic churches , a small Christian church called Center of Faith and Hope , which was the encouragement we needed .
Pastor Anibal and several leaders from Center of Faith and Hope had completed Level 1 of the Saturation Colombia training and were ready to put it to practice . “ As a church plant from Medellín , we have been praying for two years that God would open doors in this community ,” said Pastor Anibal .
After many obstacles , we set out in teams of three : North American , translator , and local church member . To our amazement , the people of Jericó were curious
and hungry to know about Jesus . A simple testimony of God at work in our lives opened the door , but a hungry soul kept the door open to hear the Good News of Jesus . More than 200 people heard the Gospel of Jesus , and 158 responded to it with a profession of faith to trust Jesus as their only Savior . The touristic , religious walls of Jericó came tumbling down before our eyes .
As we celebrated our time together , rejoicing over the incredible fruit , local church members shared how God had conquered their fear of rejection . The North Americans and translators confessed their skepticism that God could penetrate through the steep religious traditions and customs in this area . We were all in awe of how God opened doors and touched hearts . We affirmed that God alone was responsible for the results .
God touches hearts , saves souls , and transforms lives . We must simply be obedient to the call of knocking on the door and
