Short-Term IMPACT With Long-Term Results By Warren Hardig, Global Executive Director, Men for Missions In a recent Billy Graham Association Decision magazine issue, I read that 150,000 people die every day, most of them without Christ. The suffering of the persecuted church and the atrocities they endure cause me to shudder. At the same time, there has never been a time in the 65-year history of Men for Missions, a global ministry of One Mission Society, that we have had more opportunity to pray with people around the world to accept Christ as their Savior. We can say with the psalmist, “Come and hear all who fear God, and I will tell of what he has done for my soul” (Psalm 66:16). Currently, our fastest area of growth in MFMG is in non-English speak- ing countries in the Global South. We thank the Lord for every response to our note in ACTION magazine for Bible sponsorship in Cuba, which has generated enough money for approxi- mately 45,000 Bibles to date. We are seeing a steady flow of gifts for Bibles, and it is humbling and gratifying to receive gifts, both small and large. During the Men for Missions Global cabinet meeting last November, we asked ourselves, “What’s next?” Each cabinet member knew in his heart that we cannot be satisfied with only sending short-term work teams to help build 101 new homes, a church, and a school in Haiti for earth- quake victims.
