More Than a Handful

Rebekah and I married in June 2010 . We spent our honeymoon driving from Denver to New Jersey , which we don ’ t recommend , with a trailer behind us and a few vague job prospects in our future . On the drive , we felt the Lord calling us to a new level of faith .
We have a dear friend who is a missionary in Russia , working with orphans . While cruising through Kansas , we both heard the Lord say : “ Support her with $ 300 a month .”
The command was no simple thing . We faced $ 25,000 in student loan debts that needed to be paid off in two years , our

savings was wiped out by the move , and I had just found out that my job as a teacher would be paying $ 4,500 less than I thought it would . We were already giving to another ministry , and this amount dramatically superseded our tithe .
But the command was unequivocal . So , standing on His promise in Malachi 3:10 ,
