Spreading the Gospel

Creative and Responsible Giving

Friends of One Mission Society provide daily examples of the finest in creative , responsible stewardship :
• To meet commitments to many OMS missionaries , one family used entrepreneurial skills to purchase a truckload of golf carts , sell them and then pass the profits back to OMS for missionary support .
• Others in business , like the team at U . S . Plastic Corporation , work hard to increase the profits of the company so that more funds can be given to further OMS global evangelism .
• After 30 years of building their own business , a retiring couple tithed on the sale of the company to help underwrite theological training in Haiti .
• A family completed a life estate gift of their home , allowing them to live in it for their lifetimes and also to receive a sizable current charitable deduction . Recently , they sold the property , and OMS and the family shared in the sale proceeds .
• For decades , an OMS friend and her colleague developed real estate toward the day that they established a charitable remainder trust in honor of their family , providing income for retirement and a substantial gift for future OMS ministry .
• A husband and his wife establish a new charitable gift annuity each year , providing for OMS future ministry and strengthening their income stream during retirement .
• Dozens of OMS friends , age 70½ years or older , ask their IRA custodians to directly transfer their required minimum distributions to benefit OMS ministries , reducing their taxable income and benefiting OMS missionaries and ministries .
OMS provides responsible oversight of your gifts through our Board of Trustees and strong leadership to ensure that those gifts are invested wisely .
