As the heat increases to the hundred
degrees range those ol’ V-twins start
developing a metallic tick telling us they
need to cool off. While you are out riding
you need to cool off too. Be sure to add a
bottle of water in between those ice-cold
beers as you ride from poker run stop
to whatever the next event you’re going
to might be. If you get too hot, bungee a
bag of ice to your handle bars, and poke
a couple of holes in it with your Buck
knife. I used to do this often while riding
my old FXLR. The ice only lasts for 3-5
miles, but it will cool you off quickly.
Those of you making the annual
pilgrimage to Sturgis be sure to watch out
for the critters. I am told there are record
numbers of deer in that area this year.
Anyone feeling sorry for me because I
can’t go to Sturgis can bring me a tee
shirt. My size is, well, a medium in my
chest and an extra-large in my belly, so
overall, I just settle on a Large. Sucks to
be built like a pyramid. However, it sure
beats the hell out being skinny from drug
use.
Folks, until next issue we will keep you
up to date on what is going on in the
Oklahoma biker at www.oklahomabiker.
net, and on our weekly social media
event videos. Please tell our advertisers
you saw their ads in our RAG. Cheryl and
I look forward to seeing you soon…in the
wind!
