4. The pedigree of the foal must be verified by genetic testing
of foal, sire and donor mare as well as any other testing
AMHA may deem necessary. All expenses will be the
responsibility of the registration applicant.
5. A
licensed veterinarian that meets all state requirements
must conduct the collection and embryo transfer.

A donor mare may produce multiple embryos in a
calendar year.
a. The fact that a foal is the result of an embryo transfer
will be noted on the registration certificate.
7. If a mare is designated with the Association for embryo
transfer, but the transfer is not done, the Association must
be notified by December 1 of the designated year. If this
is not done any naturally bred and produced foal of the
following year must have the pedigree verified by DNA
testing.

8. The transfer of frozen embryo will not be allowed, and any
person or breeding establishment found in violation shall
be barred for not less than five years from showing and/or
registering their horses.
9. The premises and practices of any party using embryo
transplant procedures may be inspected by the Association.
The burden of verifying true parentage of a foal is the
registration applicant’s. Any questions regarding the
parentage shall be resolved against registration of a horse
carried by a recipient mare through embryo transplant.
10. The enrollment application and registration application
must be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested,
to preserve for the record owner or lessee of the donor
mare or foal, the only acceptable proof to AMHA of
timely compliance.

Only offspring BORN AFTER postmark of application for
Hardship shall be eligible for registration under fee structure.
The foal in utero at the time of the Hardship Application will be
required to be DNA parentage qualified.
AMENDMENTS
These rules and regulations may be amended or new rules and
regulations enacted as outlined in Article XVI of the Association
Bylaws.
