CL-020 SPECIALTY HALTER CLASSES A. In color classes, horses are to be judged 80% on the natural color of the horse, and conformation to count 20%. In color classes, horses are to be circled both ways of the ring in order to judge the 80% color. Horses must be lined up, head to tail in the center of the arena, to judge the 20% conformation. If offered the classes must be divided as follows: 1. Multi-color stallions and geldings (limited to Pinto and Appaloosa only) 2. Solid color stallions and geldings (open to all other colors) 3. Multi-color mares (limited to Pinto and Appaloosa only) 4. Solid color mares (open to all other colors) B. Broodmares Mares must be four (4) years and older and must have produced a foal in the current or previous year who is registered with the AMHA. SHOW RULES C. Group halter classes may be added for interest. Group halter classes must not be judged in motion. The approved AMHA classes are: * 1. Produce of Dam - 2 produce, either sex to be shown, dam not to be shown. * 2. Get of sire- 3 get, either sex to be shown, sire not to be shown. 3. Mare and Foal - must be current year foal. 4. Three by One Owner - 3 horses owned by the same person, or farm. Each horse in the group is to be judged individually. 5. Sire and Get - Sire with 2 get to be shown. 6. Best Matched Pair - one handler per horse. * Get of Sire shall have three (3) entries while Produce of Dam shall have two (2) entries entered under the name of the sire or name of the dam; one handler per horse; a separate entry number to be issued to each group of horses. The entry number is to be placed on the lead exhibitor in the group. Emphasis is placed on reproductive likeness, uniformity, quality of breed characteristics, and similarity of conformation. More than one set of entries for sire and dam may be entered in the same class. D. Maiden class. Classes may be offered for the maiden horse, one that has not won a first place ribbon in approved AMHA halter classes. 104
