What a lovely little illustrated book
for the littlies. Colourful, visually
engaging and with many pages
with little writing, it is meant for
the smallest of the home's readers
(more like listeners, though perhaps
in a couple of years they'll read it
themselves). Locally produced, it is
heartening to see a self-publisher
with the courage to turn their
stories into something enduring
for the youngest among us. And
the message is great too – Fresja
(pronounced 'Fresha') is a caterpillar
who, in the course of the book,
grows up to become a butterfly.
Obviously for early and pre-readers,
this could turn out to be one of the
books that the kids or grandkids
grow up to remember fondly in
association with the best times of
their early lives.
