Get excited for…
The rebooted Hellboy
We’re feeling hot, hot, hot about Big Red’s return
When Hellboy creator Mike
Mignola announced a Big Red
reboot minus Guillermo del
Toro and Ron Perlman, fans
were outraged. ‘If it ain’t broke,
why fix it?’ they argued. And
del Toro’s Hellboy movies
certainly weren’t broke. In fact,
they were funny and cool with
Perlman perfectly cast as the
titular, kitten-loving demon.
Time is a great healer,
however, and with more than
a year having passed since
Mignola’s bombshell, e ven
the most loyal devotees now
seem to be looking forward
to seeing the Great Beast in
cinemas again. And they really
should be excited... Director
Neil Marshall is an influential
name in the horror genre, while
Milla Jovovich as Nimue the
Blood Queen is a tasty prospect.
Most enticing of all, though,
is David Harbour as Hellboy.
With Perlman himself giving
the Stranger Things actor
the thumbs up, this do-over
looks hellishly good.
