The Parr family is back in action in this Super sequel DIRECTOR Brad Bird starring Samuel L. Jackson, Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter It’s been 14 years since we last hung 13 JUL out with the heroic Parr family, but now – finally – Pixar has served up a sequel. Once again directed by Brad Bird (a two-time Oscar winner), this ‘Super’ second chapter picks up the action 45 seconds after we left it, which means Jack-Jack is still a baby and the nefarious Underminer still needs stopping. While the first movie saw Bob (aka Mr. Incredible) enjoying the best action, Incredibles 2 turns the tables so that it’s Helen (aka Elastigirl) who’s the main crime fighter. Bob, meanwhile, gets to stay home with the kids: Violet, Dash and little Jack-Jack, whose powers are developing at an alarming rate. With the original vocal cast all present and correct, including Holly Hunter as Elastigirl and Samuel L. Jackson as family ally Frozone, plus the introduction of a sinister new villain known as the Screenslaver, make sure you save the date for this one. Sánchez How did the idea for The Secret of Marrowbone come about? There were different phases. During the first draft, I was sending [producer] Belén Atienza a few pages per day, not really knowing where the story was headed. The four young actors are fantastic. How were they cast? It was not only about getting four good actors, it was also about them coming together [in] the right way. It was very hard for me to think of the characters individually. We had to get a group that worked. What do you hope audiences take away from the film? The audience is going to find a very rich universe, full of nuances, with many turns and, above all, a lot of emotion. That is what we have put into the film and I hope it is what [they] see.
