Based on the bestselling novel by Rhidian Brook, the intriguing storyline sees Keira Knightley’s Rachel Morgan moving to Hamburg to reunite with her British colonel husband Lewis (Jason Clarke), who’s been tasked with overseeing the rebuilding of the decimated city. To Rachel’s disquiet, she discovers she will be sharing her lavish new home with the previous owners, handsome German widower Stefan (Alexander Skarsgård) and his unhappy daughter. It’s not long before sparks fly, but are everyone’s intentions honourable? Beautifully acted and wonderfully compelling, The Aftermath is a sumptuous period drama with another memorable turn from the ever-impressive Knightley. Boasting an all-star British cast that 15 MAR includes James Purefoy and Noel Clarke, this ship-shape comedy (which is based on an amazing true story) sees 10 singing fishermen from Cornwall signing a record deal with cynical London music executive Danny, who is in the area on a stag weekend.
