Watch the trailer Out this April Shazam! Released 5 April Watch the trailer Missing Link Wild Rose TBC Dead is definitely better in this Stephen King chiller DIRECTORs Kevin Kölsch, Dennis Widmyer starring Jason Clarke, John Lithgow, Amy Seimetz This blood-quickening horror is the second 5 APR movie adaptation of Stephen King’s seminal 1983 novel, following Mary Lambert’s now-classic 1989 film. With screenwriters David Kajganich and Jeff Buhler staying (mostly) true to King’s original, highly disturbing tale – there is one big twist – this remake tells the story of a young family, headed by Jason Clarke’s Louis Creed, who move to a large house in a small town. There, thanks to their elderly neighbour Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), they learn of a mysterious burial ground within walking distance of their new home, one rumoured to have the power to raise the dead. When tragedy strikes, a heartbroken Louis tests out this theory, in the process unleashing an unspeakable evil. Made by two directors who clearly know the genre (and its audience), this is a skilled and spine-chilling remake. Whether you’re a King fan, horror fan, or just a fan of great films, Pet Sematary definitely won’t disappoint. But her own mother – played by the indomitable Julie Walters – has other ideas. A powerful musical drama with a star-making turn from Jessie Buckley as the Wild Rose of the title. The soundtrack’s pretty incredible, too. I read the script and I thought ‘this is something special’. Then I met Faye Ward [producer] and Tom Harper and I thought that they were something special as well. Then when I heard that Jessie was doing it, I thought ‘well, what a great package this is’. How would you describe Marion and Rose-Lynn’s relationship? Marion and Rose-Lynn are both alpha females, basically... They don’t realise how alike they are. We understand the read-through was quite an occasion? I’ve never been to a read-through like it. People were whooping and cheering. Normally they are tense affairs, but Jesse’s voice and performance were so fantastic.
