Xxxxxx The Girl in the Spider’s Web TBC Is this the end for our favourite odd couple? DIRECTOR Fede Álvarez starring Claire Foy, Lakeith Stanfield, Mikael Persbrandt Following her sensational turn in 9 NOV First Man, Claire Foy continues her quest to be crowned queen of Hollywood with another thrilling performance, this time as Lisbeth Salander, the unconventional heroine of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium novel series. With four movies based on the books (three Swedish versions starring Noomi Rapace, and an American remake of Dragon Tattoo featuring Rooney Mara), Lisbeth has already seen her fair share of big- screen action, but Foy brings a pleasing freshness to the role, not to mention a sizeable helping of Scandinavian sass. The story this time is based on the fourth chapter in the series, written by David Lagercrantz after Larsson’s death. Spurred by a troubling memory from her childhood, misfit hacker Lisbeth becomes ensnared in a deadly world of spies, lies and cybergames, dragging journalist and one- time lover Mikael Blomkvist along for the ride.
