VOLKSWAGEN ARTEON GRAN TURISMO
Meet Volkswagen’s all-new sexy ride, the Arteon Gran Turismo. According to Volk-
swagen’s Head Designer Klaus Bischoff, “the Arteon combines the design ele-
ments of a classic sports car with the elegance and space of a fastback. It’s an
avant-garde business-class Gran Turismo that speaks to the heart and head alike.”
Hinrich J. Woebcken, CEO of Volkswagen’s North American Region, also explained
that “Arteon has the style and performance of a luxury Gran Turismo for about the
price of a fully loaded midsize sedan.” Arteon’s standard 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged
engine delivers 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque with an 8-speed automatic transmis-
sion. Its standard features include KESSY keyless access and push-button start,
3-zone Climatronic automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotain-
ment system with Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect technology with compatible
smartphone integration to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Some of
Arteon’s optional features include 4Motion all-wheel drive, digital displays and con-
trols, Active Info Display (Volkswagen Digital Cockpit in the U.S.), a heads-up dis-
play, the new Discover Pro infotainment system with a 9.2-inch glass screen and
gesture control, and Adaptive Cruise Control – which helps Arteon maintain a pre-
set speed and distance from the vehicle in front of you. Arteon is expected to arrive
at U.S. Volkswagen dealers in the fall of this year and its pricing is pending official
release from VW.
