MERCEDES-BENZ EQC The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC will be the first fully electric all-wheel drive SUV from Mercedes-Benz developed under the prod- uct and technology brand EQ, which stands for “Electric Intelligence.” According to Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler AG and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars, “Electric drive is a major component in the mobility of the future. We are therefore investing more than ten bil- lion euros in the expansion of our EQ model portfolio, and more than one billion euros in global battery production.” The EQC’s dynamic performance comes from two asynchronous electric motors at the front and rear axles with a combined output of 300 kW, 402 hp and a max- imum torque of 564 lb-ft. Its lithium-ion battery from in-house production has a total capacity of 80 kWh, which supplies the vehicle with an estimated electric range of around 279 miles, and can be charged at an appropriate charging station in around 40 minutes from 10 to 80 per- cent. EQC’s instrument panel is designed as a driver-oriented cockpit and its pre-climatization feature ensures that your vehicle interior will be at your desired temperature. The new intelligent voice control with natural language comprehen- sion in the EQC can be activated by the key- word “Hey Mercedes” to control many multime- dia and convenience functions. EQC has a top speed of 112 mph and accelerates to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Pricing is pending. 51
