ATHLETE PROFILE: CLAUDE GODBOUT What are your tips for the firsttimers, beginners? What are your OCR goals for the remaning of 2014 and 2015? Have fun! Trust me, if I’m still training and racing at 28 after all those years it’s because I love the process so much! Get a buddy to train with you so you can push yourself and you don’t get bored easily! I’m heading to the Warrior Dash world championship on October 17th in California (USA) and my goal is to step on the podium. I will also attempt the OCR world championship in Ohio (USA) on October 25 and 26th and there again, I would love to be in the top 3! ! ! How do you prepare for an OCR event? ! It’s a long term processes : you don’t start training for an OCR event 1 month before! I pretty much train twice a day, 6 days a week! I run a lot, hit the gym twice a week, do some intensities training 2-3 times a week and a lot of rollerskiing since I’m still a biathlete! This year, I worked a lot on my grip strength which seemed to pay off! ! ! What is your motivation to keep on going and overcome obstacles, during races and in life. ! You need those bad day/race in order to enjoy and appreciate the good ones. When things aren’t going my way in a race, I will try to change my focus on the now : one !
