That’s where she says she learned the important foundation of “don’t be a sissy about handling bait and fish!” She recalled her first time taking a friend out solo as a “quasi-captain” and that she had a blast! Her friend, Lisa, whom she met through tennis, lives in Florida half of the year and keeps asking about going fishing. She turned out to be an awesome angler and a fast learner. They had a perfect day on the water and brought home some great keeper gags and porgy. Lisa learned to clean a fish filet, and they met a group of kids while doing it. They both had great time teaching the kids about the fish. She loved it and after just one day out became another woman angler and fisher, for life. New Pass Marina has a nice cleaning station with fresh water. Ferris says it’s fun feeding the birds scraps, and showing tourists the fish and telling them how great it is on the water and how lucky she is to live here. Oftentimes the manatees will come up fo ȁѡ
