II am so pleased to begin my monthly column in Occhio Apello Magazine. The purpose of this column is to increase awareness of the legal rights of women who are victims of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, sexual assault, and domestic violence. I will discuss various topics of interest and there will be discussions of legal issues that women face in and out of the workplace. I invite readers to submit questions of interest anonymously. My background is that of a police officer, deputy sheriff, chief of police, and assistant district attorney. I have devoted most of my career and law practice to protecting women who are victims of predators. Predators can take many shapes and forms. They can be your spouse, partner, boyfriend, boss, doctor, or lawyer. My law enforcement training and experience gives me an advantage when representing women victims in court. I represent women who are victims of assaults, harassment, and exploitation and we sue the perpetrators for civil claim damages. Even simple vile and lewd acts, like a business owner groping a female employee’s buttocks, creates a cause of action for assault in our civil court system.
All calls or emails are held in the strictest of confidence. I have a female R.N. on staff to accommodate those who are more comfortable speaking to a woman. All cases that we accept are handled on a percentage fee basis. There is never a retainer or hourly fee.
