While Manny Diotte (Known as The Ferrari Kid), was attending The Victory Cup in Austin, he met Shehan Chandrasoma, who’s been called The Ferrari Kid of Austin, and instantly, they became friends. They soon discovered they not only have a passion for cars, but they also have a passion for philanthropy. The following week Manny came back to Austin to meet with the Chandrasoma Family and shortly after, they agreed a Ferrari Kid Chapter in Austin under Shehan's leadership would be a perfect fit.
Shehan's presence is already making a significant difference. He is working on applying for their first grant, assisting in creating their first Jr. Board, and planning The Ferrari Kid’s first event in Austin this fall. What makes this even more remarkable is that Shehan is only 14 years old. Shehan loves to say “My passion for cars has led me to an opportunity to serve sick kids, as an Ambassador for The Ferrari Kid, right here in Austin.” With Manny and Shehan's combined leadership, there is no doubt they are going to make a lot of kids happy and give all of Austin, not just the kids something to smile about.
