The Cairns Chamber of Commerce , James Cook University and the Office of Small Business have joined forces to offer a new programme , Advancing Women in Business .
The Advancing Women in Business Programme is an 18 week development opportunity designed to increase confidence , skills and career growth for women through workshops , mentoring and networking events .
The programme will engage the FNQ business community to establish a network of business professionals as mentors , who will support participants in their journey to achieving their professional goals .
Throughout the programme , top level management professionals and James Cook University professors will showcase and promote examples of successful women in business . They will provide opportunities to address business management skills gaps and deliver a professional leadership development
EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVES A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION FROM JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY .

The programme is aimed at women in middle management or business owners looking to increase their confidence and improve their skills to advance in their career and grow their business . The cost is $ 1,500.00 per person and upon conclusion each participant receives a certificate of completion from James Cook University .
