“ANNUALLY THE
ASSOCIATION
PROVIDES $60,000
TOWARDS AWARDS,
COMPETITIONS AND
BURSARIES AND WE
ARE VERY PROUD
OF THAT.”

the Business Liaison Association
IT’S TIME TO BE REWARDED
THE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY TEACHERS
ASSOCIATION AWARDS
And in the following week another annual highlight
occurred, the Design and Technology Teachers
Association Awards, short DATTA Awards. Students
from Secondary Schools throughout Far North
Queensland have entered this exciting competition,
which gives them the opportunity to demonstrate not
only their technical knowledge, but also their very
creative skills. The judges were most impressed with the
standard of work. Almost 100 students were recognised
at the Presentation of Awards. It has been pleasing to
see the steady increase of female students entering the
competition in a traditionally male dominated area.
Little rest for the Business
Liaison Association, as
they are now getting ready
for the Annual Awards
Presentation Function, on
the 29th of November, to recognise the achievements
of secondary school students for 22 Award Categories.
All Awards are sponsored and presented by local
industry groups. Angela Toppin, Chairperson of the
Business Liaison Association, commends students
and business sponsors for supporting the youth of Far
North Qld. “Annually the Association provides $60, 000
towards Awards, Competitions and Bursaries and we
are very proud of that.”
We couldn’t do what we do without the g enerous support of our sponsors.
